A scorecard is a list of criteria, each with a weight and a description of what a good answer looks like.
Add criteria
Open a scenario, go to Scorecard, and add between five and seven criteria. For each one, write two sentences: what earns a high score, and what earns a low one. The more concrete these are, the more consistent the scoring.
Set weights
Weights are relative, not percentages — a criterion weighted 3 counts three times as much as one weighted 1. The total is normalised to 100.
Mark mandatory criteria
A criterion marked mandatory caps the overall score when it is missed, regardless of the rest. Use it sparingly: compliance disclosures, safety steps, hard policy limits.
Set the passing score
The passing score is what training paths use to unlock the next step. Most teams start at 70 and adjust after the first twenty conversations.
Review the evidence
Every score links to the moment in the transcript that produced it. If a score looks wrong, read the quote first: nine times out of ten the criterion is ambiguous rather than the scoring being wrong.
